Yellowstone and Grand Teton
Yellowstone was truly an incredible place to visit. I have always wanted to visit Yellowstone. Seeing the pictures and watching programs on TV always made it seem like a far off place that you would never get to see for yourself and now having been there it certainly lives up to all the stuff you hear. I know I have hardly scratched the surface in Yellowstone and I am already ready to go back. This first trip was certainly a learning experience finding good areas to work learning what wildlife is where. Finding landscape to shoot wasn’t hard at all. I have only done a very small amount of landscape work and I feel I didn’t do too bad. Certainly an area I would like to work on some more. I have also had very little experience in shooting big game, but I feel I did fairly well. Some things I would do differently next time for sure, but I am pleased with the results for my first trip to Yellowstone.

Grand Teton was a suprise I had seen some pictures of it in a book and I knew I wanted to go there, but in a lot of ways I actually liked it better than Yellowstone. I only got to spend one day in Grand Teton and I wish I had had more time there. Got to see some moose sadly not close enough for any good pictures, but there is always next time. Having an Osprey dive into a lake right in front of you was great. I am pleased that the images came out as well as the did. Next time I will spend a few more days in Grand Teton.

I am ready to go back to Yellowstone and Grand Teton for sure, but sadly I will have to wait until next year. However I do have plans to head back up to the Wichita Mountains for elk season.
The rest of the images can be viewed in the Yellowstone Gallery.
